As part of our experiential learning, the Grade 3 students visited the Tuni Post Office and had the opportunity to explore and understand how a post office functions in our daily lives.
The children learned about the journey of a letter—from writing, addressing it to stamping, sorting, dispatching, and delivering it to the correct destination. They also observed how parcels and other postal services are handled and understood the importance of addresses, PIN codes, postage stamps, and timely delivery.
The students also learned about the parcel tracking system, which helps track a parcel’s location and delivery status. They understood that parcels can be tracked using a unique tracking ID or barcode/QR code.
The visit became even more meaningful with the guidance of Mr. M. Ganapathi Rao, Sub-Postmaster, Tuni Post Office, who patiently explained various postal processes, savings schemes for girls, and the importance of saving money.
The children were also introduced to the Return Letter Office (RLO), a special department that handles letters and parcels that cannot be delivered due to an incorrect or incomplete address.
Mr. Ganapathi Rao also answered the children's curious questions. His friendly interaction and guidance helped the students gain a clear and meaningful understanding of the world of postal services.
