Sri Prakash Synergy School, Tuni, organized an engaging workshop for the mothers of Kindergarten under the theme “Nourishing Mothers, Growing Healthy Kids.” The session was led by alumnus of Sriprakash, a renowned paediatrician, Dr. Shankar.
The workshop began with parents noting their child’s daily diet, creating awareness and setting the tone for an interactive session. Dr. Shankar explained the importance of a balanced diet, ideal child’s plate, and the role of macronutrients and micronutrients. He shared practical tips on avoiding junk food, ensuring hydration, managing screen time, and improving sleep through a healthy circadian rhythm.
He also spoke about flu, vaccinations, and the importance of supplements—who needs them and who doesn’t. Special emphasis was given to oral care, including when and how to start brushing, making it enjoyable for children, and choosing the right toothpaste.
Parents were guided on handling children with poor sleep habits, encouraging healthy eating without force-feeding, and building strong parent-child bonding, which supports brain development.
A key highlight was the review of parents’ diet charts, where he suggested ways to make them more balanced. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where all queries were addressed patiently.
Overall, the workshop was informative, interactive, and enriching, equipping parents with practical strategies to raise healthy and happy children
