It is indeed a creditable achievement and glorious testimony in the annals of Sri Prakash Synergy School to have successfully hosted two major sporting events – Rope Skipping and Table-Tennis Clusters, in two consecutive years(2015-16 & 2016-17) that commanded heaps of encomiums leaving behind a rich legacy of warmth and respect. Now the autumn season gained added significance with the school hosting yet another monumental sporting event ‘South Zone CBSE schools Rifle Shooting’(2017-18), the third epic event in a straight row, that showcased an impressive display of heightened talent and competitive spirit.
The autumn month of October 2017 opened new doors to the gripping sport of ‘South Zone CBSE schools Rifle Shooting’ as 300 student-participants from as many as 75 CBSE affiliated schools, across all the Southern States including Maharashtra, Goa and The Andaman and Nicobar islands were hyped up at the thought of proving their excellence at the trigger.
The participants brimming with competence and confidence seemed to have taken inspiration from world-renowned Indian shooters Abhinav Bindra, Gagan Narang, Apurvi Chandala and their ilk. The Deputy Chief Minister Sri Nimmakayala Chinnarajappa kicked off the three-day sporting splendor on 2nd October 2017 to a colorful start. The galaxy of guests who graced the inaugural ceremony included Sri Thota Narasimham , MP, Kakinada, Sri Raja Suribabu Raju, Municipal Chairman, Peddapuram, Sri Batchu Koteswara Rao, Founder, Batchu Foundation, and Sri Ch.Padma Raju, President, District Rifle Shooting Association.
The Rifle Shooting Competitions witnessed formidable participation of students in two categories: Air Pistol and Air Rifle. Sri Vijay Rokade, CBSE Moderator, Sri Shiva Kumar, Technical Chief, Satphal Singh Rathode and Ramachandran, Technical Officials oversaw the most engrossing sporting event. The sporting grandeur ended with a grand finale on 4 October 2017 where the jury declared the winners. The winners were overwhelmed to receive their prizes from the humble hands of the Chief Guest Sri Batchu Koteswara Rao.
