Awareness Programme for Parents and Students on Career Choices and Opportunities

An awareness programme on Career Choices and Opportunities for parents and students was conducted on Sunday, 12 March 2017 at Sri Prakash Synergy School, Peddapuram. Students of Class X and their parents were the main beneficiaries of the programme which highlighted the various aspects of a wise choice of career and professional satisfaction later in life.

The programme was ably conducted by the teaching staff of Synergy School, the anchor being Mrs. Ch. Susi, who brought to bear her vast knowledge of various careers and presented it in the form of a chart. Prof. S. R. Santhanam, Mathematician of international standing, set the tone by recalling instances of wrong choice of career set right later on. He brought home to the students and their parents the importance of choosing a career in tune with one’s nature and capabilities. Veteran teacher of Botany, Mr. K. S. R. Murthy, Retired Lecturer in Botany, clarified the approach needed for a career in Biology and the significance of the NEET Examination in relation to a medical career in India.

The Academic Coordinator of the Higher Secondary section (Plus 2 Section), Mr. A. K. Roy outlined the academic plan that would cater to the aspirations of the students after their entry into his section. Sri Prakash Synergy School is one institution in which study is not a chore but a challenging and enjoyable pursuit. He also highlighted the importance of planned coaching in securing good studying opportunities in India.

The lecturers in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Commerce and English voiced their concerns regarding their respective subjects and the openings that they provide. The teachers of Grade X inspired their students with tips on career and examinations. The head-girl, Azeeza, a student of the outgoing batch, spoke on her experience in the school, as did two other students, Abhyudaya Fomra and Vidit Parth. Three members of the alumni of the school sent inspiring videos of their messages to the students: Akash Jyothi Das, who is currently pursuing his engineering studies at IIT Kanpur, K. Tanmayee, who is doing her graduation in Business Studies in Chennai, and Sri Harsha Reddy, who is also pursuing Business Studies and Management. Their opinions assure one that Sri Prakash raises hopes which are satisfied in fact. The parents of three students gave their honest feedback on how their search for the best secondary school for their wards ended with Synergy School and how the progress of their wards satisfied them. Mr. K. Satyanarayana, (Joint Collector of East Godavari District), father of Srinivas Naidu; Mrs. Suneetha Rangababu (Sub-divisional Engineer, BSNL), mother of John Richard Tilak; and Mrs. G. Leela, mother of Madhuri, gave frank and unbiased opinions on the school that would satisfy any student who wants a conducive atmosphere for study, and supportive faculty.

Senior Principal of Sri Prakash Schools, Mr. M. V. V. S. Murthy, in his address, spoke on the importance of selecting the right career and the right attitude to be cultivated by both student and institute for the progress of both. Right attitude needs to be inculcated with right schooling and leads to right selection of stream of study which would be followed by steady academic progress.


Mrs. Sridevi delivered the vote of thanks and then the parents and students interacted informally over lunch.
